Lutfi, Ghalib Claimed They Had Britney Secrets
Sam allegedly was calling lawyers saying that Britney wanted to hire her own lawyer, presumably to fight the conservatorship. Sources tell TMZ that is definitely not what Britney wanted.
As we first reported, the conservators for Britney Spears obtained a restraining order today against Sam Lutfi, Adnan Ghalib and attorney Jon Eardley. We're told Brit herself is furious at Lutfi and Ghalib and would like to see them jailed.
One of the lawyers in the case filed a declaration saying over the past month she received "multiple telephone calls and text messages from Lutfi." She says Lutfi wanted to set up an urgent meeting to "speak with Mr. Spears and me with regard to what he claimed was 'information he had received about Mr. Spears and his daughter, Britney Spears as well as others.'" The attorney also says Lutfi claimed "he had been talking with Adnan Ghalib about the conservatorship and Ms. Spears' status as a conservatee."
In another document, one of the conservatorship lawyers claims "Mr. Lutfi has sent text messages and instant messages that contain false and hurtful allegations concerning Mr. Spears, Ms. Spears, and the Spears family." The lawyer continues, "Mr. Lutfi, Adnan Ghalib, and Jon Eardley sought unsuccessfully to induce an attorney to file" false statements with the court.
Under the TRO, Lutfi, Ghalib and Eardley must stay 250 yards away from Britney, her parents and her kids.
Interesting fun fact: In the petition for the TRO, it says Brit has been communicating with Adnan and that "Ms. Spears innocently informs Mr. Ghalib of her destinations and that he then arranges for paparazzi to meet and film her to his financial benefit."

Remember Sam & Adnan? Britney's Dad Wants Them Banished for Good
The resurgent star's conservatorship obtained a temporary restraining order Friday against Spears' former manager Sam Lutfi and her onetime paparazzo boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, both frequent companions of hers during the period she was known more for meltdowns than catchy pop melodies. (View the order.)
A hearing for is scheduled for Feb. 23 to review the matter. Britney's parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears, and her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden, are also included under the umbrella of protection.
Ghalib and Lutfi, who hasn't been welcomed at casa Spears or anywhere else Britney can be found for some time, couldn't immediately be reached for comment. The order is also in place against attorney Jon Eardley, who early last year was enlisted by Lutfi to work on getting Britney's conservatorship overturned.

Britney's Circus Goes Platinum!
The announcement was made on Monday, ahead of the pop singer's North American Headline tour, set to kick off in March. What a difference a year makes! The success of Brit's album is the topper to what has truly been a remarkable comeback by the "Womanizer" star. Since her father Jamie Spears took over as her conservator, Britney has recommitted herself to her career, slimming down to her original fit figure and reconnecting with her family.
Noticeably gone from the singer's life are former "friends" Sam Lutfi and Adnan Ghalib. According to TMZ, Brit's conservators obtained a restraining order against the two on Thursday. A source close to the conservatorship tells TMZ that Brit herself asked her conservators to "protect her from Sam and Adnan."
She reportedly told her conservators that she is afraid of them both and hoped they could be locked up in jail.
The conservators believe that Lutfi and Ghalib conspired to undermine Britney's conservatorship in a way that would have been extremely harmful to her. And remember attorney, Jon Eardley, the guy Lutfi used early last year to mount an attack against the conservatorship? He was allegedly in on the conspiracy as well.

What was your favorite off-screen moment with Britney on
How I Met Your Mother?
"She was very embarrassed when she flubbed up on her lines, you know, everyone does. I do, as well. She'd hop into her accent, [it] would come up real strong and she'd go, 'Oh gosh yall, I'm sorry, yall.' Then she'd hop back into character again, which is kind of funny." - Neil Patrick Harris
If Britney were to return to How I Met Your Mother for another guest appearance, where would you like to see her storyline go?
"She was stalking me for the last show and then I steered her towards Ted, so here's to hoping she'd attack Ted Mosby. That would be hilarious."

Britney and Madonna Set to Tour Australia
And pop fans could also see Britney Spears for the first time. A Madonna show at Telstra Dome has been pencilled in for September 29 and is tipped to be confirmed this week.
Worried Britney might skip Melbourne? Log on to her blog and convince the pop princess to visit Victoria!
The Telstra Dome date - a Tuesday - would not clash with the venue’s AFL commitments.
Fans may have to shell out $150 for the cheapest seats, given the falling Australian dollar and Madonna’s high production costs.
Seats closest to the stage could sell for as much as $400. The itinerary was posted on her promoter’s website, Live Nation, yesterday. It listed shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Perth, as well as Europe and Japan, before being swiftly removed.
Madonna will extend her 2008 Sticky and Sweet tour - which became one of the highest-grossing tours in history, making $420 million - to visit places she missed last year. Fan forums are already suggesting the diva should ditch many of the songs from the flop Hard Candy album for a greatest hits set.
Her Australian promoter Michael Coppel yesterday refused to comment.
Madonna’s last Australian tour was in 1993. Several Australian promoters are negotiating to bring Britney Spears to Australia for the first time, also in September. Dates have been tentatively discussed for indoor shows in Melbourne and Sydney, as well as New Zealand.
Insiders say Spears’ Circus tour will be one of the biggest productions to play indoor venues in Australia. Britney’s world tour begins in New Orleans in March. Ticket sales for the tour have already reached 600,000.

Z100 needs Britney Spears to clean up
But first her label is going to wash the song out with soap. “We plan to play an edited, super-clean version,” says Tom Poleman, senior vice president of programming for Clear Channel, parent of WHTZ (100.3 FM). “We’re just waiting for a good edit.”
“Amy,” the third single from Spears’ hit comeback CD “Circus,” has kicked up a firestorm over the title phrase, which when spoken rapidly spells out a crude sexual phrase. While popular music has a long history of double entendre, this is more like a single entendre, since the phrase in the song seems to have no other meaning.
Jive Records, Spears’ label, has promised a re-edited version of the song that cleans up the offending line, said Sharon Dastur, Z100 program director.
“The record label will be providing the edit,” said Dastur. “They've been letting us preview some potential options to make sure it's appropriate. “Last I heard, they were going to have Britney go back into the studio to re-record some tracks for it.”
The song caused some buzz when “Circus” was released, but it remained limited while two other songs were promoted as singles on the radio. The controversy rekindled when the watchdog Parents Television Council (PTC) threatened to file indecency complaints with the Federal Communications Commission against any station that played “Amy.”
Clear Channel, which laid off 9% of its workforce this week, is hardly in the mood to finance an FCC fight right now.
Clear Channel CEO John Hogan also pledged before Congress several years ago, in the wake of the Janet Jackson scandal, to institute a “zero tolerance” policy on broadcast indecency.
Neither Spears’ camp nor Jive has issued any public comment. But record companies are rarely unhappy about anything that draws attention to their material, and Spears has thrived for years on sex controversies, personal and professional.
The Jive Web site currently features a video in which Spears gyrates on the bench in a sauna, without the apparent hindrance of clothing.

Britney Spears’ Racy “If U Seek Amy” Hits the Radio, Angers Parents
The Parents Television Council is livid that Britney Spears‘ cunningly titled “If U Seek Amy” is getting radio play, despite the fact that the title and lyrics essentially say “F-U-C-K Me.” Parents in Australia first complained about the song’s content, and now that the track has become the third single off Circus, American parents are lining up to demand radio stations cease playing the song between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. as it “violates the broadcast indecency law.”
“There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song, and it’s certainly not about a girl named Amy,” PTC president Tim Winter said. “It’s one thing for a song with these lyrics to be included on a CD so that fans who wish to hear it can do so, but it’s an entirely different matter when this song is played over the publicly owned airwaves, especially at a time when children are likely to be in the listening audience.”
Despite the PTC outcry, radio stations continue to play the track, as evidenced by its Number 92 debut on the Billboard Pop 100. A Jive-edited version of the song excises the “k” from “Seek,” thus “If You See Amy” (which is pretty much still “F-U-C Me.”) Some inventive DJs are throwing their own names over the “Me,” so for instance when the chorus plays, it’ll go “All the boys and all the girls are begging to if you seek George,” etc.
Meanwhile, we’re still trying to wrap our head around why a Parents Television Council would complain about what’s on the radio. They should be more concerned with getting Bromance off the air than this Britney single. All the chatter around “Amy” hasn’t stopped 107,000 people from buying the song digitally.

The Parents Television Council Warns Parents About "If U Seek Amy"
First of all, how does a television council have any say what the RADIO plays.
"There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song, and it's certainly not about a girl named Amy," PTC president Tim Winter said of the track, the third single from Britney's latest album, Circus.
"It's one thing for a song with these lyrics to be included on a CD so that fans who wish to hear it can do so, but it's an entirely different matter when this song is played over the publicly-owned airwaves, especially at a time when children are likely to be in the listening audience," Winter says.
Fortunately, this hasn't stopped radio from playing the track! According to MSNBC, "Six top 40 stations have the song in rotation this week, enough to place the track at No. 92 on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. Leading the pack is WFLZ-Tampa, Fla., which has played it 19 times."
Not to mention the handful of emails I've received from fans in major cities like L.A. and New York saying their radio stations have been playing the uncensored version of "If U Seek Amy."
"'We're confident the version of the song we air is not crossing any lines,' program director Tommy Chuck told Billboard.com, adding that WFLX plays a Jive-created edit of the song that changes 'Seek' to 'See' as well as a jokey version in which morning host MJ shouts his name every time the word 'Amy' appears.
Digitally, 'Amy' has sold 107,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan."

Music and style commentators alike agreed that 2008 was comeback queen Britney Spears' year to shine. And hellomagazine.com readers clearly agreed, with a resounding 43 per cent voting her Most Attractive Woman of last year.

US Radio Ignoring Britney Ban
The song has been met with widespread criticism because its chorus sounds like Spears is singing "all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to F.*.*.K me" The US Parents Television Council has said that it violates the broadcast indecency law if aired between 6 am and 10 pm.
The single has entered the Billboard Pop 100 chart after six radio stations playlisted the track and has already recorded digital sales of 107,000. "We're confident the version of the song we air is not crossing any lines," WFLX's Tommy Chuck told Billboard.com.
The DJ added that record label Jive has provided them with an edited version that changes "seek" to "see". A joke version has also been produced that sees the jockey shout his name over the offending parts.

The pop princess - who is said to be altering her new single If You Seek Amy so not to cause offence - reportedly likes to leave a trail of disgruntled employees and hotel guests in her wake during visits to the Peninsula Hotel.

Britney’s rep denied the claims, insisting, “These reports are completely false. Britney could not be more genial to the staff at the Peninsula.”

Spears 'Signs Multi-Million Dollar Biography Deal'
The Toxic hitmaker - who began her career at the age of 11 on Disney Channel's The New Mickey Mouse Club, and then went on to become one of the best-selling singers in the world - has been signed up by a literary agent, who is now working on a lucrative deal that'll see Spears give a no-holds-barred account of her rise to fame, according to British tabloid the Daily Mirror.
A source tells the publication, "There have been numerous unofficial biographies printed about Britney, but she's never agreed to pen her own tome - until now. "And some of the stories she's got are absolute dynamite. She's kept diaries so there's nothing she'll leave out unless she wants to.
"If the deal goes ahead she will write between three and five books throughout the next decade - it's one of the most lucrative book deals in showbiz history. "Britney will talk frankly about growing up and how she went off the rails. It'll be a gripping read."

Britney Spears Shows Off Killer Abs in Tour Photo
Spears has shed 20 pounds in recent months, whittling her waistline to its trimmest in years, thanks to two-hour cardio-and-strength-training workouts three times a week (on top of dance rehearsals), Us Weekly recently reported.
"It's a nonstop workout," Bally Total Fitness trainer Steven Boggs, who has worked with Spears, told Us of the routine, which includes moves like shoulder presses and jump squats.
She has also revamped her diet, opting for a 1,100- to 1,200-calorie-a-day meal-delivery plan from Sunfare consisting of three meals (breakfast burritos, barbeque chicken salad and turkey burgers) and two snacks (think cheese and nuts).
"I have had to work hard at getting [my body] back to where it used to be," she said in January's Glamour. "I used to be obsessed with working out ... But I can't get motivated right now because I'm so focused on my music."

Britney At A Tour Rehearsal(1/12)
Britney's Agenda For 2009 Includes Touring — And Some Controversy
It's Pop Week here at MTV News, and that means we're catching up with and getting to know everyone who's going to make a splash in pop music and culture over the next 12 months. Whether they're just arriving on the scene or are already the name on everyone's lips, these are the artists we expect big things from in 2009.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the release of ... Baby One More Time, and to celebrate, Britney Spears is keeping busy in 2009. She's heading out on the road this spring and will soon release the third single from her successful comeback album Circus, "If U Seek Amy."
When Spears hits the road in March, she'll be bringing along the Pussycat Dolls, who recently revealed to MTV News that they are very excited by the chance to tour with the pop star.
"Get your tickets," Ashley Roberts told MTV News when we caught up with the Dolls on the set of their new video for "Bottle Pop." "We are actually going to be teaching the 'Bottle Pop' dance on tour, so check it out."
The girls, who will also be hitting the road with Lady Gaga this spring, admit that "this is a big touring year for us. In the States we are going to be with our girl Britney on tour," Nicole Scherzinger said. "We are going to be joining the circus, so come hop along with us — then after that we're just going to be taking over the world, Pussycat Dolls-style, so please come out and help us do that."
Perhaps they can learn a thing or two about taking over the world from Britney, who has some experience in that area.
The tour isn't the first collaboration between the PCD and Spears. "Britney actually wore one of our little lingerie pieces on her Circus album," Roberts said. Kimberly Wyatt added, "Britney wears it well, and it's always been fun to work with her. We've done a couple shows with her and she's always down to be a Pussycat Doll, and now we will be joining her on her tour."
Of course, it wouldn't be a new year for Spears if there wasn't some controversy behind the scenes. Spears is set to release "If U Seek Amy," and the song's chorus — if you say it fast enough — spells out a profanity. This may cause some issues when it comes to radio airplay. But Spears, who faced controversy when she released her first single, " ... Baby One More Time," a decade ago, isn't a stranger to this sort of thing.
"It's a potential issue for every station," KIIS-FM Los Angeles program director John Ivey told MTV News of the single. "I'm certain that I would run it by my legal department first. My first job is to protect [the station's] license. ... It's better to be safe than sorry."
Asked if he would edit the song, Ivey added he probably wouldn't because he felt the phrase was included in the song to provoke, so an alteration would change its intention. "[Spears' label Jive] might also be just floating it out there to see if they can stir things up a bit."
Stirring things up, even all these years later, is something Spears knows a thing or two about.

"Circus" Places #6 On Billboard This Week
Just as predicted, Circus has placed in the #6 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 40,000 copies with a 37% decrease.
Here's where I get lazy and copy + paste the portion I wrote yesterday: Coming in close behind is the Twilight soundtrack, with 42,347. Beyonce's "I Am... Sasha Fierce took the #4 spot with 48,698, Kanye West's "808's & Heartbreak" at #3 with 50,424, Nickelback's "Dark Horse" takes the #2 spot with 53,514 copies sold (they have a new album out? Whaaat?), and Taylor Swift, again, takes the top spot at #1 with 73,630 copies.

Britney To Star In “Sex And The City”?
It seems Britney - who impressed critics with her cameo on US TV show How I Met Your Mother last year - would play a young relative of SJP’s character Carrie Bradshaw. Sarah Jessica told friends: “My idea is to have someone like Britney Spears move to New York as my cousin or niece and Carrie would show her the ropes.”
It wouldn’t be the first time mum-of-two Britney has been on the big screen - the 27-year-old appeared in chick flick Crossroads seven years ago but the road trip movie was slated by critics. Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon are expected to reprise their roles in the SATC sequel.

Britney Spears Moving Into $8.9 Million House
"I just took my babies to our new home, and they loved it!" Spears wrote on her Twitter account. "I can't wait to move in." According to X-17, the pop star -- who is mom to Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2 -- was spotted unloading items such as the boys' electric cars onto the property.
The Prado De Los Suenos house in The Oaks community in Calabasas is priced at $8.9 million, a reduction on its original fee, according to a real estate source.
The pop star's six-bedroom, six-bathroom Studio City, Calif. home is currently on the market for $7.195 million. (It was originally priced at $7.9 million, but because the house has been on the market since September with no offers, the source says they lowered the price by $7000.)The gated, Italian Renaissance-inspired villa has about 7,500 square feet and features a wet bar, a library, a den, high ceilings and stone and mosaic tile floors.
The master bedroom has a fireplace and a loggia. The pad also comes complete with a pool, spa, arbor and three garages.
Spears, 27, had to leave the home twice in 2008 to be hospitalized at L.A.'s UCLA Medical Center.
In June, Spears said she wanted to move her L.A. house to "a lower density, more quiet and less trafficked neighborhood," according to a court document filed by her co-conservators, father Jamie and attorney Andrew Wallet. The singer specified that she wanted a home "more accessible to parks and recreation areas" for her children, according to the document.

"If You Seek Amy" Poses Censorship Problems For Radio
But what will they do with a new single from a major artist that doesn't actually contain a four-letter word, but rather spells it out in a not-so-subtle way? That dilemma is beginning to dawn on top-40 radio programmers across the country as the third single from album, "If U Seek Amy," starts to make its way to the airwaves.
The cheeky title (try saying it fast) joins the tradition of album titles like Van Halen's 1991 For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. The chorus doesn't even try to make grammatical sense of the phrase: "But all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy."
The spelled-out profanity puts the song into a legal gray area for radio stations.
"It's OK to put in on an album, have fun with it, but we're publicly owned, you know?" said Patti Marshall, program director at Cincinnati's Q102, a pop station in a decidedly conservative Midwestern market. "We have a responsibility to the public ... you put this ... out and act like we're all fuddy-duddies, like we're trying to make moral judgments. It's not about us. It's about the mom in the minivan with her 8-year-old."
Like several programmers we talked to, Marshall said she had not yet been told that "Amy" was the next single from Circus. She's still busy playing the album's title track, which was recently released as the second single. Asked if she would play "Amy" if it came to her as a single, Marshall said likely wouldn't. She likened its chorus (which she has not heard) to "a little boy in sixth grade doing arm farts."
A spokesperson for the Federal Communications Commission did not return calls for comment, and Spears' label confirmed the choice of the single but would not comment on its content or any potential issues at radio.
Sharon Dastur, program director at Z100 in New York, also had not yet heard the song and said she's not sure what the station's plans are for it. She compared its possible problems to those faced by her station in 2005 upon the release of the Black Eyed Peas single "Don't Phunk With My Heart."
"Listeners thought it was the other word, and so we had to change it to 'mess,' " she said. That example was also the first that popped to mind for KIIS FM Los Angeles program director John Ivey, who said he knew he couldn't play the Peas' song as originally recorded but felt that censoring it would make it sound more nefarious, so he asked the group's label for a new version.
"It's a potential issue for every station," Ivey said of the Spears single. "I'm certain that I would run it by my legal department first. My first job is to protect [the station's] license. ... It's better to be safe than sorry."
Asked if he would recut the song to edit out the naughty bits, Ivey said he probably wouldn't because he felt the phrase was included in the song to provoke, so an alteration would change its intention. "[Spears' label, Jive,] might also be just floating it out there to see if they can stir things up a bit."

Circus
Call it a comeback. After a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 with "Circus" and the chart-topping peak of the first single, "Womanizer," the title track from Britney Spears' sixth album is her first top five start on the Billboard Hot 100. Besides the image overhaul with a return to the Spears of old, Brit has recorded her most mature, musical album to date, with hook-heavy tunes and more important, fully engaged pop vocals with little vocoder assistance. "Circus" finds Spears in the more-than-capable hands of Dr. Luke (Pink, Katy Perry), who surrounds her with an electronic cyberpop landscape, while Spears spits out lines like, "There's only two types of guys out there/Ones that can hang with me and ones that are scared." Gotta love it. While her life has often resembled a circus—to which the public has ringside access—it appears Spears is now the ringleader instead of the main attraction. —Chris Williams

Britney’s Confidence Ring
The ‘Womanizer’ singer has been spotted wearing a tourmaline band, which claims to boost inner strength and provide a sense of stability.
The rock was given to her by the celebrity designer Dara Dubinet to help her get back on track following her public breakdown last January.
Dara told Life and Style Weekly magazine: ‘I made the ring with Britney in mind. When something is made with good intention, it carries that positive energy to the person who ends up wearing it.’
It was recently claimed Britney has lost confidence in her dancing ability and has been missing rehearsals for her new world tour because she is too embarrassed.
The 27-year-old star - who is preparing for her first arena tour in five years - is said to be reluctant to dance in front of choreographer Wade Robson, who she has worked with since 1999.
A source said: ‘She didn’t want him to see that she’s not as good as she used to be.’
Britney kicks off her tour in New Orleans on March 3.
